Dr. Mark Stein graduated Cum Laude from Brooklyn College, and received his M.D. degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He completed his Internship and Ophthalmology Residency at Beth Israel Medical Center of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He is Director of Cataract Surgery, the Northwell Health System, the largest outpatient eye surgery center on Long Island, and he is the founder of South Shore Eye Care.

Over the last 40 years he has built this practice into one of the largest ophthalmology practices in Nassau County. Dr. Stein is a well-known specialist in no injection, sutureless cataract surgery, and plays an active role in teaching this state-of-the-art procedure to other physicians. He is also certified in Laser Vision Correction.

Dr. Stein is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the Hofstra North Shore LIJ School of Medicine, Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the NYU School of Medicine and an Assistant Professor at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. He was chosen by his peers to be listed in the Castle-Connolly guide of the Best Doctors in the New York Metropolitan area. He maintains an active role in supervising and teaching Ophthalmology residents at North Shore University Hospital. Dr. Stein is now the Medical Director of the Patchogue Division of the Northwell Health System.

Dr. Stein is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, The American College of Surgeons, and the Nassau Academy of Medicine. He is also a member of many other professional societies including the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, New York State Ophthalmologic Society, Long Island Ophthalmologic Society (President in 2005), and Medical Society of the state of New York.

policies and procedures and/or federal or state law. Calls received by the Compliance HelpLine are most often
inquiries but can sometimes be reports of potential misconduct. Our investigatory process includes many methods to
determine whether any misconduct occurred. Compliance takes all calls seriously. Inquiries are reviewed by the
Compliance Officer and may also be reviewed by other applicable departments.
The Center’s Compliance HelpLine is available 24 hours a day, even days a week. Compliance HelpLine callers may
remain anonymous and those who choose to give their name will have their identities protected to the extent allowed
by law. The Compliance HelpLine has multi-lingual operators who can take reports from individuals whose first
