Adam J. Flug, M.D. is a Board-Certified Comprehensive Ophthalmologist at ProHEALTH. Dr. Flug received his undergraduate degree with honors from Yeshiva University. He subsequently attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he graduated at the top of his class and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Flug then completed his ophthalmology residency at the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. He specializes in small-incision cataract surgery, screening and treatment of diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration. He takes care of adult and pediatric patients.
In 2009, he founded the Ophthalmology department of ProHEALTH, where he currently serves as Chief of the Lake Success Division. He is actively involved in the training of Ophthalmology residents at both Northwell Health (formerly North Shore-LIJ Health System) and South Nassau Communities Hospital. He trains Ophthalmology residents in the art and science of cataract surgery, and lectures frequently on various topics in Ophthalmology. He also serves as an Ophthalmology consultant to the New York Islanders.
Dr. Flug has published his clinical research in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national meetings. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Hofstra University and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the New York State Ophthalmology Society.
